You may have heard one thing or another about artificial grass and how it gets way too hot in the summer months. Unfortunately, fake grass just does not have the natural cooling properties of real turf, and, as a result, it does heat up faster – especially here in Southern California, where the sun shines all of the time. Here at ProGreen, we are constantly trying to improve upon our product, and finding a way to keep the grass cool was one sure-fire way to make it better.
For keeping artificial grass cool, you have a couple of options:
- Irrigation – spraying the turf with water will provide immediate relief from the heat
- Shade – either add a shade feature or ensure that part of the grass is shaded during the installation. By avoiding exposure to direct sunlight, you will significantly reduce the temperature.
- Color – changing the color of your infill will actually reduce the temperature.
We want to ensure you are happy with your Los Angeles artificial lawn, and keeping it cool enough for you and your pets to use is a big component of your satisfaction. We cannot make the sun go away, nor would we want to, but we can lessen the effect it has on your grass. If you have any questions about our artificial grass, please do not hesitate to contact us for more information.
